final decision...

I've finally decided the path I want to take as far as school and a career go. I've enrolled at the Utah College of Massage Therapy!

The program starts next month, March 15th, and I couldn't be more excited about it! I LOVE the idea of a very relaxed, chill work setting. Believe me, Mitch is even more excited than I am. He's already volunteered to be my guinea pig for homework assignments! haha

The best part of the whole program is that I give and GET 2 massage's daily! What's better than that?!?! The only thing I'm worried about is the Cadaver Lab. Eek! I'm not too sure how I (or my stomach) will react to the smell of all those chemicals and a dead (open) body in front of me. We'll see! Other than that, I'm so excited to be getting off the couch and doing something with my life that will help support my husband and our future family. There are so many career options when it comes to massage! Seriously, their ENDLESS!! I get to be creative and helpful and make money doing it! haha

P.S. Once I've passed a certain amount of classes and I've learned enough, we have clinics every Saturday where people can come in and get a great massage by the students! You still have to pay a little, but its pretty cheap considering we're all still learning so its a really good deal. I'll let you know when that time comes! :0)

Hey, Soul Sister!!

How happy and cheery does this song make you feel!? I can't listen to it without singing and wishing I knew ALL of the words so I could sing along!

LOVE this song.

Don't pay attention to the video, just the song. Its by Kala'i and its just so sweet and touching, I had to share it.

Here are the lyrics. Read them as you listen to the song.

Strong ties can be broken by one little fight
Where one say's you're wrong the other I'm right
But the truth is, it's not worth it, so I swallow my pride
And kiss every tear from your eyes

Then like a man who is barely able, I rise to my feet
To carry the cross that you bare, I'll be the only man who cares
I'll be the light, you be the warmth and I'll be there

So I hope you remember when times get rough
That you can rest easy knowing you're loved
And when you wake you'll find me lying beside you
My sleeping lips pressed to your cheek

Then like a man who is barely able, I'll rise to my feet
To carry the cross that you bare, I'll be the only man who cares
I'll be the light, you be the warmth and I'll be there

I will be there when there is no passage,
I will be home when you're on your way,
And I realize hearts still get broken

So I'll carry the cross that you bare, I'll be the only man who cares
I'll be the light, you be the warmth and I'll be there

I'll be the light, honey, you'll be the warmth and I'll be there

kid-sittin

This past weekend, Mitch and I watched my cousins, Jordyn and Kayden, while their parents went on vacation to the Dominican Republic. We had SO much fun hanging out with them. They are so fun to be around and SO funny!

I have always been very against playing many video games for as long as I can remember. They just put me on edge and anxious when I watch people play. These kids convinced me to try and I found that, once you throw yourself into the game, that its actually SUPER fun and easy to obsess over! haha

Monday, though, was the most fun. The kids hurried and did their homework and chores when they got home and we went Classic Skating! I was NOT going to put on skates, but, once again, Jordyn and Kayden convinced me to do otherwise. Needless to say, they found out instantly why I didn't want to join them skating. I was so shaky and almost fell SO many times, but they were a big help and held my hand to support me. They wanted a small prize afterwards so they got laser pointers. (I have to shout out a little apology to their parents!) We went out to dinner and had such a great time just talking and hanging out.

Amy and Todd, feel free to go on vacation whenever you want... only leave your children behind so we can play with them! haha Thanks for giving us the opportunity to watch your kids!

I started using my aunt's yoga dvd while she was on vacation and I have seen a significant change. I am more motivated, I feel healthier, I feel happier! The video shows segments of the dvd. If you have been considering starting yoga, do it! I feel like I have just made one of the best decisions of my life. :0)

SNOW SNOW SNOW!!

HOLY SNOWPOCALYPSE!!!

I wish I was in Virginia with my family! The last huge snowfall there was the blizzard of '96. I remember- I was there. I was 6 years old and I remember trying to walk in the snow and sinking in up to my armpits! At Dulles International Airport (which is 15 minutes TOPS from my house) the snowfall was measured at 24.6". As of noon today, the snowfall was measured at 25" and it is predicted to continue snowing until 10pm! I copied some pictures from my aunt, Alanna's, facebook. The difference between the photos taken at 10:30am and 12pm is CRAZY!! Check it out! More to come!

The walkway up to her house. This is JUST how I remember it in '96.

10:30 am.

12 pm. Crazy, right?!?!

3 pm measured at 23 inches

Here's a picture from my friend, Katie's, facebook. If you didn't notice, this is on her CAR!!

savings!

Inspiration- Ashley Wakefield.

Her latest post was about savings. I found an interesting little saving opportunity and thought I'd share the wealth! There is an ADORABLE dress on www.shabbyapple.com that costs $49.00. Here is the little gem!

Cute, huh? Almost worth considering spending $50 for the thing? I don't think so. Now, let me show you a dress EXTREMELY similar to the one I just showed you.

EXACTLY the same, right? Only this one is only $19.99 at Target, further proving my belief that NO article of clothing is worth anymore than $30 and, more than not, name brands are NOT worth the extra $40 they chalk on. :0)

worst song EVER...

I think (and everyone else in the world should as well) that this is the worst song/music video I have ever heard/seen! Even worse than Paris Hilton's "Star's Are Blind." If you listen to the whole song, please let me know and I will send you an apology care package. Ladies and Gentlemen, Heidi Montag's "Overdosin'!" I apologize in advance...
