My Pregnancy: Week 28
Last week, I took the glucose screening test. I went to the doctor this week to find out the results. I failed. :0/ If you score under 140, you don't have diabetes. If its over, you might. My score was 145. So now I get to take another test where they draw my blood 4 times in 3 hours after having fasted for 10-12 hours. Oh joy. This test will determine if I have gestational diabetes and at what level. I could just have to stop having any sugar or I might have to meet with a nutritionist and be put on a very strict diabetic diet. Worse yet, I could have to start monitoring my blood sugar everyday and taking insulin shots= TONS of needles!! :0( Either way, I'm already cut off from any sugar. Turns out you don't miss what you've got til its gone. I'm having hardcore withdrawals! NOT happy. This is not the disease to get when you're a chocoholic. Anyway, the test is Friday and I'll update you all when I know anything. Here's what babycenter.com has to say this week:
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
